SHORT DESCRIPTION OF
RESEARCH COMPETENCE
The research expertise covers processes
involved in nutrient acquisition and utilization by higher plants and the
functions of mineral elements in plant metabolism, plant-environment
interactions and plant productivity. The work spans disciplinary expertise in
molecular biology, biochemistry, and ecophysiology. Advanced analytical
facilities for profiling of metabolic activity and elemental composition of
plants have been established together with growth chamber facilities for
cultivation of plants under controlled nutritional regimes.
